Mini Hoppel's

Do you remember this pic ?

I was working on some tiny Hoppel's since a little while.
Last weekend I was in mood for getting the Hoppel's done for the shop.
Sadly this will be the last batch of Hoppel's for this year.

I will be busy with making christmas gifts and vacation planing (I'm going to Hong Kong in november/ december) so there won't be any new Hoppel's this year.

The mini Hoppel's are smaller than regular ones. They fit in every pocket ;)
You can adopt a little Hoppel in my shop.

A little bit of sewing

When I think about the past weekend it felt like I was only sewing.
I was working on so many projects that the weekend passed by so quickly.

I was able to finish some long overdue quilt projects and prepare stuff for my next weekend.
Do you remember this little plus quilt ?!
I planed to turn it into a doll quilt for my wall (in my sewing area) but since I already have a vintage quilt on my wall I turned it into a pillow cover.

Since the mini quilt has unusual pillow size I had to make the pillow foam myself.
It was really easy and I was able to use some left over stuffing from making dolls and soft toys.
I'm very happy that I finally found a good use for this mini quilt. It looks so darling with my plus quilt.
I totally love seeing these together .

In my last post I mentioned that I'm working on some placemats for my SIL.
She will turn 37 this saturday so I had to work quickly.
Her dinning area is mostly black, red and white. Gladly I found some fabrics in my stash wehich goes really nice together.

I used the pillow tuorial from Elisabeth Hartmann.
It's a really nice and easy to follow tutorial.

I quilted each placemat in a different way. I had really fun trying out something new and I have to admit that I start to like free motion quilting.

My quilting is far away from being perfect but at least the stitches look really nice. They are all nearly the same length.
It's really hard to pick a fave but I think I love the "crazy lines"one most.

Mr. artistic told me that he really likes the geometric placemat.

Wavy lines are easy and fun and always turn out really nice.
I'm pretty sure my SIL will like these because I really do love these.
I really need some placemats for myself.
Did I ever mentioned that I still don't have a quilted placemat for myself ?!

Right now I'm working on a few comission orders.
I'm making another cloth doll and a tiny Hoppel to match this one.
I'm also preparing some dolls and tiny Hoppel's for the shop. The Hoppel's will be available as boys (with moustache) and as girls.
I nearly finished all the machine sewing parts and I will take the  Hoppel pieces with me for a long weekend at mr. artistics parents home.
Can you imagine to finish 48 Hoppel arms and legs (turning, stuffing and closing the seams) ?
 I must be crazy !

Hoppel linen collection

I always loved to work with linen.
I love the texture and the look of linen products.

I have a few lovely linen FQ with adorable prints.
I always saved those for the perfect project.

Since a while I rarely touch or use these.
Last week I worked on a linen Hoppel for a friend.

(first linen Hoppel for a friend)
I enjoyed working with linen again.
I found all the beautiful linen in my cabinet.
I couldn't resist to make 4 more linen Hoppel.

(linen Hoppel's in the row)
I finally found a way to use the little charms which I bought in Singapore last year.

(cute little Hoppel charm)
They make the linen Hoppel's even more special.
If you need a helping hand. Adopt a little Hoppel and you will never be alone.

Moustache Hoppel's

When I bought my sewing machine in 2006 I quickly fall in love with toy making.
In the past years I created lots of little plush critters and my head is still filled with new ideas.

Due to lack of time I'm slowly making new ones.

Do you remember this little Hoppel ?

In honour of him I planed a little moustache Hoppel collection.

(Hoppel moustache collection)
I made only 4 of them so it's a very small collection.
Instead of the embroidered roman numerals I added a little moustache on the back.

(embroidered moustaches on the back)
You can find the little Hoppel's in my shop.

43/365 "Don't eat carrots! Cuddle them !"

Today I recieved an awesome gift from Loki. She sent me the cutest felted carrot for the Hoppels, a book "The little prince" (I always wanted to read it ) , some really cute buttons and awesome stamps for my WTJ.

And I learned my lesson today. Hoppel's don't eat carrots !!! I need to find out what they like best ? Maybe the other Hoppel's (who are living in different places all over the world) can tell me more about their fave food. My current Hoppel's refused to tell me truth !

gastroscopy

I had my first gastroscopy in my life today. I was a bit scared because I wasn't sure what will happen. The doctor asked me if I want to sleep while he was doing it and I said "Yes, of course!".
I choose the "small" narcosis because I don't want to be awake while somebody is checking my stomach.
The nurse prepared everything and the doctor entered the room. He is a really nice doctor with a soft voice and friendly face (he is around 40+).
He made a comment about my colourful shirt (which was a gift formyself for my birthday this year) and I told him that if I have to get up that early (OK ...it's a lie because it was the same time I usually work already for more than an hour) I want to make everybody happy with seeing me with  a super colourful and bright shirt.

(ignore the mess and spy the shirt)
I woke up around 15 minutes later and everything was done. The nurse told me to get up and have a rest untill the doctor is ready. My belly felt puffed up and I still hope that I didn't fart while I was asleep *crossing fingers*.
The doctor told me that everything was OK but he will get the complete tests in 2 days. He will call me when something was bad with the tests. I asked for a sick certificate and gladly he gave me one. I didn't feel sick or anything but due to the narcosis I wasn't allowed to drive the car.
Mr. artistic picked me up (which was pretty hard because he had to get up early) we went back home.
I found a little wound on my lip. Must happened while the doctor removed the tube. Except of this little issue I'm feeling fine !

lifeguard

26/ 365 lifeguard, originally uploaded by crafting with loove.

I cleaned the flat and found the duck. I remembered that I have two small ones in my box too. I had to take a photo with the Hoppel. I wanted him to ride the duck in the water but he has a big head !!
I have always lots of fun playing with my Hoppels. They keep me creative and make me laugh!!
