christmas mails

The new year is already 6 days old and I had still no time to blog about my christmas mails from last year.

Due to the holiday traveling and of course my lazy ass I'm a little bit behind to say thank to some lovely friends from all over the world.

A few ladies spoilt me with fun a cute christmas packages.

Each package was so unique and filled with love and creativity.

There was a lovely mail from Lala.

my christmas week in pictures

It's already a week since I left home for christmas holidays.

I had no time for blogging because I was visiting family and friends.

I spent the three christmas days with the inlaws.

My little niece is growing so fast. She is turning 2 in january and already talking so much <3

I love it when is saying my name.

After Christmas I rushed to Berlin.

On 27th my sis (who is living in Berlin and where I'm staying till new years eve) and I went to my dad for dinner. My dad is living in Berlin too and he spent christmas with my sis.

We cooked together and watched a movie (which turned out to be the most stupid movie of 2011 for me).

The next day my sis + I met up with my little sis and went to my grandparents home. My grandma turned 75 and we went out for lunch.

Yesterday I met with my friend Katja for lunch....

...and some spanish chocolate with churros.

Later that days my sis and I went to Bärbel (an old friend of my dad) for dinner. We spent hours with chatting and eating <3.

Today my sis and I started our day in bed with a good Jane Austen movie.

Later we went shopping to use my christmas money to get myself a new coat.

Sadly m fave color was sold out already so I went with a light brown.

Mr. artistic calls the color poo-poo brown.

I lke it because it goes well with my purple hat ans scarf.

Have you seen the Hobbit trailer ?!

OMG...the Hobbit trailer is awesome.

Mr. artistic and I watch it over again and again. The song is so fantastic. This is soooooo epic.

One year and finally another amazing Peter Jackson movie is in the cinemas.

Are you waiting for the Hobbit too ???

I'm now at my inlaws home.

We had a yummer dinner and I'm wrapping the presents while mr. artistic is out to meet with his old school friends.

I'm watching my fave christmas now. "The holiday" and "Love actually".

Today I found the most fun and entertaining christmas card for this year.

One of our partners at work sent us this card. You see one little wooden tree when you open the envelope.

After you open the christmas card you will find another little tree.

Now you just need to put both wooden tiles together....and get a real little tree.

Today was my last day at work. Tomorrow after my last doctor apointment for this year we will rush to the inlaws.

I will spent the christmas days with the inlaws before I go to Berlin to visit my dad, sis and grandparents and of course to celebrate new year with mr. artistic (who will come a few days later to Berlin) and a few friends.

Gladly I have my outfit already. But no chance to see it before new years eve.

only 5 days

Only 5 days till christmas and I'm still not on holiday mood.

Still fighting against the cold which I catched in Hong Kong more than 2 weeks ago.
Runny nose, stomach problems etc.

I still need to prepare christmas presents.

There is no christmas decoration in my home this year. Not even a tiny wodden figure or a shiny candle. I own 3 large boxes of christmas decoration (+ one big box of christmas ornaments for the christmas tree). Mostly vintage things and lots of stuff which I got from my mom.

I won't set up everything for the remain days because I'm not in mood.

I hope next year I will be in mood to decorate the whole flat.

I'm working till thursday and mr. artistic and I will head to his families place for christmas on friday.

christmas market in Dresden

Before I'm writing my last post about my Hong Kong vacation I want to blog about sth. christmas related.

Last weekend I went to the 50th birthday party of my uncle. It was some kind of family meeting because we are to busy to meet often.

A big birthday party is always a good reason to meet and spent some quality time. I arrived on wednesday last week in Berlin and stayed at my sis home till saturday. My little sis joined us on friday and we took my sis car and drove all the way in the mountins.
We packed lots of christmas music and some of our fave christmas audio dramas for the 3 1/2 hours in the car.

The party was really lovely. I was able to see my uncle and my cousins again. We ate , we drank and we danced (I really hate dancing but it was my uncles birthday and HE loves dancing).

The next morning we rushed after a little breakfast to the christmas market in Dreseden.
In germany we are taking our christmas markets very serious. Nearly every little town has there own christmas market with lots of cute and interessting stuff to see.

But there are some really big and lovely ones like the one in Dresden. Sadly I wasn't able to enjoy the christmas market as much as I'm doing it normally. After only 5 hours of sleep and my rumbling tummy I was glad to just survive the visit.

 

We had only 3 hours before I had to take the train back to Göttingen. I had to change the train 3 times and mostly I had onle 10 minutes.
I really hated it and I was glad to be at home after 5 hours on different trains.

christmas thoughts & others

" Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat hey put the penny in the old mans hat..."

I totally love this christmas song. It reminds of good old times when I was still in school. From the 7th till 10th grade our english teacher used to sing this song with us every year.

I still remember a chorus and sing it every year. I really need to learn the complete text to be able to sing the whole song.

I just found some youtube videos of choirs singing that song.I used to be in choir when I was in 7th grade.

Sadly I left the choir one year later because some older students didn't stop bullying me. They always made jokes about my big front teeth (they called me rabbit) and when we went on a choir trip together I found a big paper carrot on my plate for breakfast one morning.

I really love singing and maybe I should look for a choir where I live now.

But back to the main reson for the this blog post.

A few days ago I sent 3 little christmas packages out in the world. Since all of them arrived at their home I'm able to show you what I've sent.

This little christmas stocking is now in the USA with Amy.

The second stocking traveled all the way to Japan and is now with Ayumi.

Another package arrived in Singapore.

I made a pillow cover for Jo.

And a little duckling bag for Jo's lovely daughter Joelle.

The pillow cover is not the only christmas related item which I'm taking to Hong Kong.

Since my wallet is a bit big and heavy I made myself a new one just for the trip.

It's big enough to store all my credit cards and cash but not to heavy and bulky.

I used one of my fave linen fabrics from the stash. I bought the fabric a few years ago but never found the perfect project to use it.

The wallet is something I will use daily so I will be able to enjoy the cute fabric very often.

The lining are some christmas related fabrics from my stash as well. I really need to stock up with some christmas fabrics but I will wait untill christmas is over to get them on sale.

This year I won't be able to use any more christmas fabrics so I have no problem to wait.

There is always another christmas coming !

The quilt is growing and growing. Sadly there will be no time to work on that quilt for the next 4 weeks.

I think I will be able to add a few flowers durring christmas holidays.

I really can't wait to finish this quilt because I'm plaing the next hexagon quilt already.

I know I must be crazy to think about another hexagon project but I really love to have long term projects.

I'm full of hope that the first hexagon quilt will be finished by the end of january 2012 so I can have a fresh start with new hexagons.

christmas pillow cover

In two weeks I will take the plane to Hong Kong.

I will stay in Hong Kong for 1 1/2 week and after my vacation I will travel around for a few days in germany.

Sadly I will miss the first 3 weekends before christmas. I will miss the first 12 days of chocolate from my advents calender and lighting the candle on the "adventskranz every sunday before christmas.

I won't be able to decorate the apartment and enjoy all the christmas lights in my home.

To take a little bit of the christmas feeling with my on vacation I made a christmas pillow cover for the long flight.

I wish there would be enough time for a matching quilt but I'm happy to have something christmas related around while travel.

I used some of my red and white christmas fabrics to make wonky stars. I quilted by hand around every wonky star with embroidery thread.

I used some of my fave japanese christmas fabric for the back of the pillow cover. Sadly I made a mistake with the measurements so pillow foam always shows :(

I loved making the wonky stars and they are fun easy. I will definetly will make more of them. Maybe a complete quilt made from wonky stars ?!
