Eleven Things

Eleven Things about me:

1. I love tiny salty pretzels but I hate the salt on them. I always peel the salt of so you find lots of salt around me when I snack pretzels.

2. My family moved into a small village when I was a teenager. The next bigger city was 20 km away and the bus stoped only 3 times a day durring weekday and never at weekends.

This means I had no chance to meet up with friends untill I was 18 and allowed to drive a car.

3. I'm shy when I meet new people but as soon as I feel comfortable around them I'm a really loud person.

4. I don't drink anything from plastic bottles because the santicizer is toxic for your body (and causes cancer).

5. My home is always a mess. I have tons of craft stuff and I'm still buying more.

I love all kind of crafts so I need lots of materials.

6. Sometimes envious of girls in my age or younger with babies. I'm not able to have kids of my own and I still struggle because of this.

7. Mr. artistic and me want to adopt a kid (because of 6.). We are hoping to adopt a kid from another country so it's time to save some money.

8. I'm going to Bad Homburg in 1 1/2 week for rehab (because of my breast cancer in 2009).

I will stay there for 3 weeks and I'm already excited. I will do lots of sports and other fun stuff.

9. I really want to learn how to knit but I have no patience. I tryed it several times but always gave up after a few minutes.

10. I really enjoyed my doll times (10/2006 - 12/2008). I met lots of lovely people through Blythe & BJD and I still talk to a few of them. Some of them turned into fantastic friends which I don't want to miss anymore.

11. I rarely drink coffee because it makes me feel crazy. My body is not used to the caffein so I'm feeling like being on drugs after a big cup of coffee.

1. Be honest with me. Do you wear socks with your tennis shoes all the time?
Of course I wear socks because I read that the dye they use for shoes is toxic and causes cancer.
 2. Where are you from?
I was born in Nauen/ Germany and grew up in the east of germany (near Berlin).
3. Who is/are your hero/es?
My mom. She was an awesome woman. Full of creativity and love.
 4. What do you want to do with your life?
Due to my breast cancer I have no real plan for the future or my life. The most important thing is to be healthy so this is all I want.
5. What/who makes you happy.
 My cat, my hubby, my family and my hobby.
 6. Mac or PC person?

7. What are three of your favorite blogs?

I have so many fave blogs that I'm not able to pick only three.

 Chocolate <3

Lord of the Rings. Mr. artistic and I watch all three movies every year around christmas.

nail polish

I can't believe that I hated to wear nail polish on my finger nails untill last week.

It always felt like having tons of heavy stuff on my nails.

But gladly I'm no able to wear nail polish.

And since that days I can't stop buying new colors.

I still need to work on my skills to apply the nail polish in a perfect way.

A week ago I started to watch emergency room again. I used to watch it when I was still living at home and at school.

After 2009 I wasn't able to watch any doctor related series but now I'm able to watch them.
But I have to admit that I skip episodes with cancer.

Last week in my 20ies

Next week is filled with party and celebration.

I'm turning 30 in seven days.

I will take a pic of myself each day untill my birthday.

Today I had an appointment 2 hours after I finished work.

I had to kill time and ended up shopping.

I went to karstadt to buy some needles for my sewing machine and I looked for some yummy yarn.

I ended up with the quilting needles only (so expensive) and went straight to H&M.

In Göttingen we have a childen H&M and a woman H&M.

Because I found some good stuff at the children H&M last time I checked the children H&M first.

I had a 50 € gift coupon (thanks SIL) in my bag and I was ready to spend a few Euro for fun stuff.

When I entered the H&M the grey sweater screamed my name.

Since yesterday I was thinking about getting a simple grey sweater to wear over my blouses.

For 10 € of course it was mine.

When I was waiting for an empty changing room I saw a girl trying a lovely knitted sweater.

I turned around quick and started searching for the sweater.

Lucky me found the sweater on the sale rack for 10 € only.

Of course this sweater had to be mine too.

The sale rack had lots of other lovely clothes too.

I found a black sweater with little flowers which I bought in different colors a few months ago.

For 7 € it went on the "buying" pile immediately.

There was a grey striped shirt for 3 € which I didn't photograph. It's the same style like the black flower shirt only with short sleeves. Of course I had to get it too.

My closet is lacking checkered blouses.

When I found one for 7 € I hads to try it.

It's not slim fitted but goes lovely with skinny jeans.

For 37 € I got five lovely tops . What a great deal.

Now I really need to clean my closet to make room for these beauties.

Gladly my sis coming in a few days for my birthday so she can help me to donate some old stuff .

Have you noticed the blouse I'm wearing today ?!

I bought it more than 3 years ago from miss selfridge.

I found it in my closet today still with tags .

Do you have clothes in your closet which you never wore and still with all the tags ????

I still have a few clothes which I never wore. Sometimes I donate these without wearing them once .

only 5 days

Only 5 days till christmas and I'm still not on holiday mood.

Still fighting against the cold which I catched in Hong Kong more than 2 weeks ago.
Runny nose, stomach problems etc.

I still need to prepare christmas presents.

There is no christmas decoration in my home this year. Not even a tiny wodden figure or a shiny candle. I own 3 large boxes of christmas decoration (+ one big box of christmas ornaments for the christmas tree). Mostly vintage things and lots of stuff which I got from my mom.

I won't set up everything for the remain days because I'm not in mood.

I hope next year I will be in mood to decorate the whole flat.

I'm working till thursday and mr. artistic and I will head to his families place for christmas on friday.

new hair

I'm back to blonde again.

I'm normally a blonde girl but after loosing my hair because of chemo I decided to be a black haired girl.

In the past 5 month I turned slowly back into a blonde girl again.

Now I'm finally back to my old self. With blonde hair.

And I love it.

Pimp up your clothes

I'm always looking for unique shirts, dresses and pants.

But you hardly get any cute stuff in the shops.

Why always look for cute and unique clothes when you can pimp up your stuff yourself.

A few weeks ago I bought a simple black cardi from H&M. I really needed a black one to go with most of my clothes.

As much as I love the simple and classic look the cardi wasn't really me.

It screamed for a little pimp up.

I remembered my love for leather elbow patches and quickly turned my simple cardi into a hot designer cardi. lol .

I saw some other cardigans on different websites with heart fabric patches and went quickly through my stash.

I really wanted to add some hearts made out of vintage sheets but mr. artistic convinced me to use some non vibrant colors.

Now I'm glad that I choose the grey tweed. It goes perfect with most of my clothes.

sunny weekend in Mötzow

While I'm typing this and looking at all those great sunny pics I'm wondering where I catched the stupid cold.

Since yesterday I have a sore throat and a little bit fever.

I went to the drugstore and picked up some homeopathic stuff and I'm taking it since yesterday every 30 minutes (when I'm not sleeping).

Due to some very important meetings today I have to work the half day untill I'm able to go home to rest.

I'm really pissed that I'm having a cold again. I had a big fat cold last month and had to stay at home for 1 1/2 week.

I'm hoping that this cold won't last that long.

It seems that my body has difficultys to fight against flu virus since I had my chemo 2009. I never had a flu or anything else before chemo. Even if all the people around me had a flu it never caught me.

But the time changes and it seems that I have to be extra carefull and pack myself in warm clothes !!

But back to my weekend.

I spent 3 awesome days with my dad and my sis in Mötzow again. We went there last year already and I totally loved it.

Our vacation started with a stop in Brandenburg. It's a lovely  town and perfect for a little shopping.

He choose the sunglasses himself because they looking like blues brothers glasses.

We stayed there for a few hours untill we rushed to the small holiday village near Mötzow.

We had some yummy bread roll with fish and rested for a few minutes near the Havel canal.

The holiday village was awesome as always. This year we stayed in the old bungalows. The bungalows are not  new but I adore the GDR charm.

Last year we stayed in the new built houses which are pretty nice.

 Each of these new built houses comes in a different colours . There are 5 finished houses right now and they are still working on some new ones.

On friday evening a few more people from stutterer self help group arrived. My dad is a member of this self help group and he and another guy organised this weeked for stutterer and their families.

Gladly we new already a few of them from last year and it was fantastic to see them again.

We chatted a little bit but my sis and I were so tired so went to bed very early.

The saturday was mostly for relaxing. While the members of the self help group had some kind of workshop about burn out my sis and I relaxed in the sun.

In the afternoon while most of the members went to visit some famous places near Mötzow my sis and I rented a boat (like last year).

We rowed for 3 hours untill our hands started to bleed. Hahahahaha...not really. My sis was in a rowing club when she was younger and while she was a student. She is very proffessional (not like me) and she has super power in her arms.

(houseboat...I would love to rent one next year. But it's pretty expensive !)

When I wasn't rowing our boat I did some craft work. Yes I did some craft work in the boat.

I prepared some hexagons before I left on thursday and I finished them all last weekend.

I made the decission to cut hexagons from nearly all the fabrics I own. It's the perfect project for traveling because you only need some yarn, fabrics and some paper hexagons.

In the evening we met with the other familys and members for a barbecue. We had some awesome conversations and we stayed up till 2 am. I'm not sure when I caught the cold but I'm pretty sure it was that night when I was sitting outside for hours with only a longsleeve, a denim shirt and some shorts with leggins.

Not much for a still cold spring evening ?!

On sunday my sis and I just relaxed and "worked" on our tan.

I had really hard time to say good bye to that awesome place. But gladly I only need to wait 1 year. My dad and the self help group rented the place again for next year in june.

It means next year I will be able to go swimming too because the weather is much nicer.

This is a small paper camera I made a few days ago. It will be my model for Wendy's new camera bag.
Since I failed with the size for my sis mobile phone bag (it was to small) I thought it's better to build a model in the correct size this time.

Thanks to mr. artistic and photoshop for removing my pimples...lol...I have really bad skin recently >___<
