week 39: Things I love

I post every wednesday about things I love because
I always take lots of pictures of things I like but I never post or upload any of these.
So I came up with the idea to post every wednesday about things I love.
Feel free to join me. Post every wednesday a picture (or a few more) of things you like and tell us why.
This week I'm loving....

day trips with my dad

Every time I go to Berlin I take the friday off to spend it with my dad.
We always have big plans but there is never enough time to do everything we planed ahead.

Two weeks ago I had 1000 of plans for that day but after sleeping untill 10 am there was not enough room for doing everything on the list.

We cut the list short and went to a big book store first. We sepereated and each of us spent 2 hours in different sections of the book store.
I left the store with another travel guide for my Hong Kong trip in november and my dad added a few more books on his "I need to buy" list.

We left the bookstore and took the bus to Berlin; Mitte.
My dad used to live (untill 1994) in Mitte next to Berliin wall.

I haven't been there since a long time and so many things changed. After the they broke down the wall they rebuilt a little pond which used to be there (before WWII). There is now a little cafe near the pond which is really nice .

My dad and I just walked around Mitte to look for some places we still remember.

We were both not in hurry so it was a lovely and relaxing trip.

It was already getting dark when we left Mitte to have a last beer before we took the tram home.

It's always great to spend time alone with my dad. He is such an amazing man. Love you dad !!

traveling, food and international friendship

I tptally love traveling. I lost my heart in asia.
There are so many places in asia I want to visit .
I'm very happy that I'm going back to Hong Kong in november but I still have lots of more countries and cities on my wishlist.

Japan is always on the top of my list. I visited Japan 2008 and I hope to be able to go there again next year for late honeymoon with my hubby. We are both super big Japan fans and I really want to to see more places in this country.

South Korea is another country I really would like visit.
I love korean dramas and I'm always facinated by the great places I see in those dramas.
I want to visit Seoul and see some of the places in real life.

Singapore is always on my wishlist. But I'm not sure if I can stand the heat another time. I visited Singapore with Wendy last year and we had a great time exploring the city and meeting up with friends.

There are lots of more places in asia but because of the hight travel expences I have to focus on a view spots.

Here are some pics from my Singapore & Hong Kong trip last year.
I tryed lots of yummy food and met the cutest and loveliest friends.

A date with mr. artistic

I'm a married woman since more than a week now.
I have to admit that I feel a little bit different now. I have no idea how to explain that (especially in english) but I feel really grown up now.
Calling mr. artistic my husband makes me feel like a real adult.
I know that I'm nearly 30 and I'm an adult since many years already but being a wife to the man I love makes a completly difference.

Last friday mr. artistic and I had a date. We rarely go out because of lack of money. But the main reason is we are super duper lazy.

Friday was an awesome sunny day. We had around 32°C which was pretty hot in comparison to the lousy summer we had this year.

It was a really short trip (only 4 hours) but we managed to do lots of things.
I heard from my coworker about a lovely restaurant near a little lake. We took the car and after 20 km we arrived in the countryside.

When I saw the beautifal lake I totally regret that I didn't bring my bikini. This summer was so cold that I didn't use my bikini very often this year.

There was still some time before we went for lunch in the lovely restaurant so mr. artistic came up with the idea to play mini golf.
I have to admit that this was my first time playing mini golf and I really drove mr. artistic crazy.
When it comes to sports which I don't like I'm not very passionate and never try hard to be make a good job.

Since it was already 2 pm when we finished mini golf we went straight to the restaurant.
I had somethhing typicall german. I had Schnitzel with croquettes. They had really yummy cakes for dessert but I wal already full.

After lunch we still had some time left before we had to go home (because of my sports classes).
We rented a little boat and just enjoyed the summer day.

It was the perfect date on a perfect sunny summer day.

Sometimes I think that I have nothing to write about...

...but I do have a lot to write about and I have always enough pics to show.
But sadly I'm a very lazy lady so I stick with posting only one picture on flickr and keep the left overs for me.
Since I'm starting my next weekend trip tomorrow I think I should write a little bit about my easter weekend.

(small little train near the mountains)

I spent the entire easter weekend with my dad and my older sis. We met up with my aunt and her family to celebrate her 60. birthday with her family.
Most of her family (brothers and sisters) still live in the small village where she was born. Hettstedt is a small village not so far away from the east Harz.
The Harz is a famous place for hiking and vacation. There are lots of lovely hiking routes and a few very special sagas about this area.

(on the top of the Hexentanzplatz)
On easter saturday we had the most perfect weather so we decided to go hiking to visit the famous Hexentanzplatz .
I always wanted to go there because it's one of the best spots in the east Harz. Sadly we were not the only ones with that idea. Due to the easter holiday nearly every german and lots of tourits seemed to have the same idea.
The Hexentanzplatz was cramed with people so we only stayed a few minutes for some lovely pics before we started our hiking tour.

(view from the top)
My dad was as always very well prepared. He brought a book about hiking tours but we agreed to just follow the signs.
It seemed that my sis and I left our brains at home because both of refused to wear hinking boots. We choose our pretty sandals. It turned out te be a very stupid idea because the path was full of rocks.

(handmade backpack by me - birthday gift for my sis 2010)

We hiked for around 4 hours with only a very short break because my dad asked a guy for the best way back to our car.
We were all pretty tired when we came home that day.

On easter sunday we left the east Harz to visit my granddad. He is turning 90 this year and he was really lonely this easter. My grandma died in december last year and it was his first easter since 1948 (when he came back from russian war captivity).

(river near the our path)
I left my granddad (and my dad & sis went back home too) on monday to spend a few days with mr. artistic and his family.
We went hiking again but sadly the weather wasn't that nice anymore.

(me on the top after 4 hours of hiking)
Tomorrow I'm leaving again to meet with my dad & sis again. I have to travel 350 km with my little Ford Ka.
I will be back on sunday because I have to go to the office again on monday !
